Current Pilot Programs
The pilot programs were created to help employers in specific provinces, communities, or sectors hire foreign workers without the need to apply for a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).
These programs by-passes the Express Entry program and are thus suitable for those who do not qualify for Express Entry. Successful candidates will complete a paper-based permanent residency application.
Atlantic Immigration Program
This project was launched in 2017 and was meant to be a temporary program. To date, it has been a great success and was made a permanent program in January 2022.
New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island benefit from this project.

Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot
This project was launched after the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Project proved to be successful. It targets the economic benefits of smaller communities by creating a pathway to permanent residency for skilled workers who will contribute to these communities.
As the name suggests, the communities are considered rural and lie within the Northern Parts of Canada.
Agri-Food Pilot Project
The needs of the Canadian agri-food sector are addressed by this program.
